Introduction to Spinning Yarn

We offer two spinning classes, and both are beginning level. The first is the drop spindle class which teaches basic spinning properties and techniques. The second class is Spinning on the Wheel, and it takes the concepts that are taught in the drop spindle class and shows you how to apply them to the wheel.

Drop Spindle

Learn how to make yarn on one of the oldest tools still in use today. In this class we will discuss fiber, twist, blending, and plying.

Class $55  includes a drop spindle and roving

Spinning on the Wheel

In this class we will transpose the concepts from the drop spindle to the wheel, and discuss the difference in the two tools and their potentials, while practicing treadling and then jumping right in to spinning.

Class $65 (spinning wheel for use in shop)
